If we alter the microscopic dynamics of a macroscopic system, the thermodynamics will change in a corresponding manner. I will discuss a simple set of exact and approximate relations which govern such thermodynamic corrections. The results are completely general, but are particularly interesting when applied to black holes as they support new interpretations of the Weak Gravity Conjecture, a string-theory-inspired constraint on low-energy physics.
