Abstract: Assume G is a connected reductive algebraic group defined over a field of good characteristic and F : G \to G is a Frobenius endomorphism. Kawanaka has defined a family of characters, called GGGRs, for the finite reductive group G^F which are parameterised by the unipotent conjugacy classes of G^F. In this talk we will discuss a program designed to give us explicit information concerning the multiplicities of irreducible characters in GGGRs.
