Event details

Date 15.03.2018
Category Call for proposal

Through the call “Time Machine Prototype”, EPFL’s HABITAT Research Center, in partnership with the Digital Humanities Laboratory (DHLAB), seeks to enable and encourage a profound interdisciplinary collaboration among EPFL and ENAC laboratories that share a common urgency: the need to explore the interactions between spatial, social and environmental processes through the dimension of time. Through a 4D data-modelling, HABITAT aims to explore the potentialities of an interdisciplinary time machine, to look at the multiple scales of both space and time and to reinforce the existing synergies among artificial, natural and social environments while unfolding new ones to be explored. Projects must propose a relevant case study (with a related database) to investigate a spatio-temporal research question.

Eligibility: Any EPFL lab or cluster of labs can apply to this call as long as at least one lab in the cluster is part of the ENAC School.

Funding:
·        up to 30.000 CHF for each multi-lab project;
·        up to 10.000 CHF for single-lab projects (only ENAC lab).

Eligible costs: data acquisition and raw data processing, field visits, travel expenses, equipment and salary costs for EPFL staff. A detailed budget must be provided.

Deadline: 15 March 2018
Decision: 1 April 2018
First workshop: June 2018
End of the project: March 2019
Presentation at ENAC Research Day: Spring 2019
