Fondation Botnar was established in Switzerland in 2003 with the core purpose of improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in growing urban environments around the world.
 
The foundation offers research and implementation funding on the following topics:

  • Child and adolescent wellbeing in the areas of health, nutrition and education at the household, community, city and national level.
  • The development of child and adolescent-friendly secondary cities in low- and middle-income countries.
  • The implementation of artificial-intelligence-based as well as digital solutions that improve the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents.
 
Type of grants
  • Research grants are for understanding and developing sustainable solutions.
  • Implementation grants are for long-term implementation projects, which generate scalable impact.
  • One-off grants are for smaller projects.
