The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the US Government, designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. It offers well-rounded applicants who are academically well prepared, active in their community or even globally engaged the opportunity to study, research and teach in an institution of higher education in the United States.
 
Fulbright Foreign Student Program

  • Who: students with undergraduate degree completed by fall 2018.
  • What: to pursue studies at the master’s or Ph.D. level at any recognized institution of higher education in the US.
  • Funding: $ 20,000 for one academic year.
  • Eligible costs: cost of tuition and other academic expenses.
  • Duration: 4-10 months (not renewable) between July 2019 and June 2020.
  • Start of Study/Research: August-September 2019.
  • Application Instructions

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
  • Who: researchers, university lecturers and experts with a PhD or 5+ years of professional experience in their field of study. Applicants must be affiliated with a university or research institution in Switzerland.
  • What: to conduct post-doctoral research, lecture, or pursue combined lecturing and research in the US.
  • Funding: $ 30,000 for one academic year.
  • Eligible costs: a monthly stipend, a one-time settling-in allowance, a one-time professional allowance and limited accident and medical coverage.
  • Duration: 3-10 months between July 2019 and June 2020.
  • Start of Study/Research: August 2019-April 2020.

General Eligibility criteria:
  • Swiss citizenship: if you hold another citizenship, apply via your citizenship country.
  • English proficiency: based on personal assessment; TOEFL is NOT required at the application stage.  
  • Disciplines: All disciplines, except medicine (not including Public Health or medical research), dentistry, and veterinary medicine (foreign medical graduates must apply directly via the ECFMG website).
  • NOT Eligible: US citizens and applicants who are currently living or working in the US.
