In this talk, I will give a short introduction to the geometric formulation of the WKB method. The WKB method is a way to approximate solutions to ordinary (or partial) differential equations on Riemann surfaces. I will focus on the case of a second order differential equation formulated on an arbitrary Riemann surface where many properties can be read off from the geometry of the quadratic differential associated with a linear differential operator with a large paramter.
