Aim: Since 2004 The Harry J. Lloyd Charitable Trust has been sponsoring melanoma research through the Melanoma Research Grant program. With a special focus on screening and prevention, most individual grants do not exceed $125,000 per year.
Three types of grants are offered:
Special consideration will be given in three areas: 1) emerging novel concepts that constitute significant innovation, 2) new investigators in the field of melanoma, and 3) prevention and early detection.
Duration: No ceiling given
Funding: Typically $ 125’000 max.
How to Apply: Applications should be in narrative form and can be no longer than five typewritten pages in length. Additional supportive attachments are acceptable, but they must be pertinent. Applications must include an investigator form for each named investigator, biographical sketched for all research personnel, and a budget justification. All documents must be submitted on the Trust’s website; note that a proposal cannot be revisited, but must be submitted all at once. Awards will be announced in May 2020.

- Basic Science: To gain new biological insights in to melanoma development or progression
- Translational Research: To fund clinically important melanoma research
