Did you ever wonder which opportunities you have in pharma/biotech industry as a life sciences PhD or postdoc?
Jeff Behrens will give an overview of:
- the overall organization of biotech/pharma industry - who is doing what, where?
- value chain and key functions (with a focus on development vs. commercialization)
- some specific examples of scientific input into drug development
- building a career outside academia - general thoughts and advice
Jeff Behrens, MS, MBA is an entrepreneur. He is president and CEO of Sialix, a company that develops antibody-based cancer therapeutics (http://sialix.com/). He is based in Boston, USA and gives lectures about biomedical engineering at MIT.
Brian Hashemi will talk about his experience in investements in medtech.
Brian Hashemi has extensive background in healthcare technology development and commercialization and has been an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and was a researcher at NASA.
This event is organized together with the Management of Technology (MoT) of EPFL.

As usual, the talks will be followed by an apéro in the SV Hall at 6:15 PM, stay for a beer!
