Season 2
Péter German, Application of POD-ROM to multi-physics computations
The utilization of Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) based Reduced-order Modeling (ROM) is a rapidly developing field in computation science, since it is capable of lowering computational effort by orders of magnitude. Consequently, such Reduced Models could support e.g. the design and optimization or the regulation and control of complex systems where fast and accurate computations are required. During this seminar, the fundamental idea behind POD-ROM will be discussed with technical details how to apply it to multi-physics problems in the analysis of Molten Salt Fast Reactor (MSFR).
