Measure equivalence for locally compact groups

Abstract: In the talk I will discuss the notion of measure equivalence within the framework of locally compact second countable groups, with primary emphasis on the unimodular case, and explain how classical results, such as the Ornstein-Weiss theorem, generalize to this setting. If time permits, I will also discuss the notion of uniform measure equivalence and its relation to coarse equivalence. The talk is based on joint work with Juhani Koivisto and Sven Raum.
