Aim:  The Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) announces a Request for Proposals (RFP) soliciting high-impact pre-clinical, translational, and early clinical research from scientists and clinicians around the world. The RFP calls for ideas that have the potential to lead to near-term clinical application in melanoma prevention, detection, diagnosis, staging, and treatment. 
 
Proposals will be accepted for Team Science, Young Investigator, and Pilot Awards. Please find relevant details for each program below.
 
Team Science
  • Designed to foster a collaborative research process and promote transformational melanoma research advances
  • 3 years, $300’000/year
  • Team must be multidisciplinary with two or more established PIs and one young PI
  • Letter of Intent due 07-Oct-2019. Full proposal due 10-Jan-2020. *

Young Investigator
  • Early career faculty with original ideas into the field of melanoma
  • 3 years, $75’000/year
  • Applicants must be within the first four years of their first independent academic faculty appointment
  • Eligibility check due 04-Nov-2019. Full proposal due 18-Nov-2019. *

Pilot Award
  • Senior investigators who propose potentially transformative ideas that do not have extensive preliminary data but articulate a clear hypothesis and translational goals
  • 2 years, $50’000/year
  • Applicants must be senior investigators, past the first four years of their first academic faculty appointment
  • Full proposals due 18-Nov-2019.*

How to Apply: All letters of intent and full proposals should be submitted via proposalCENTRAL.  During the submission, you will be prompted to enter details for the Host Institution. If EPFL will serve as you host institution, please enter the name exactly as: Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne EPFL. At the Full Proposal stage, the signature of the institution’s signing official is required; please contact the Research Office for this task.
