"Population Sampling in Dynamic Health Care Policy"
Abstract: The desirability of a health program may decisively depend on population trends. We consider the decision about a medical intervention in a certain cohort in a time-varying population with imperfectly observable dynamics. To reduce uncertainty it is possible to collect costly samples. We determine an optimal sampling policy and apply our results to hepatitis C screening of a population with linear prevalence dynamics.
