Lecture series of the exhibition "Ville Ouverte / Penser en Construisant"
Within the framework of research related teaching projects the Chair of Professor Spiro at the ETH Zurich deals with research into and the advancement of historical construction techniques. The first subproject concerns the examination of construction methods deploying short wooden elements for vaulted structures. In a number of minor constructions on the campus the students utilized these principles, whilst simultaneously examining the relation of traditional construction techniques and the computer as a design and production tool.
