The Peter and Traudl Engelhorn Foundation was established in 1993 in Germany to promote young scientists in the field of life sciences. The Foundation offers, every year, around seven junior postdoctoral fellowships in the field of life sciences (e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, genetics, proteomics, molecular biology, systems biology, microbiology, bio-medical technology, biotechnology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics and biophysics).
Who can apply:
- Applicants must hold a PhD/MD, be under 34 years old and have done studies in the natural sciences, pharmacy and medicine with above-average results.
- The host institution must be based in Switzerland, Germany or Austria.
Eligible costs:
- Postdoctoral salary (including 16% social charges) based on SNSF salary scale.
- Does NOT cover overheads.
Duration: 24 months (non-renewable)
Deadline for institutional support letter: 8 July (send your application to research@epfl.ch)
Deadline: 15 July (every year).
Decision: October.
Earliest start: January, but no later than 6 months from the decision.
Restriction:
- You can submit parallel requests for funding for the same project, but you must inform the Foundation.
- If you are awarded another funding (fellowship or research grant) you must inform the Foundation who will withdraw the award.
