We suggest that QFTs should be viewed as quantum systems which
live on the space of causal structures rather than on the space of
Lorentzian metrics. Both the usual and local RG flows as well as the
conformal group naturally appear from this point of view. In this talk I
will show how this works and comment on some consequences.
