In partial spinal cord injury, neural circuit reorganize and can achieve varied extent of functional recovery. We would like to understand the circuit and molecular mechanism in order to improve functional recovery. I will present our latest work on understanding how motor cortex regain control of the spinal cord circuits for the recovery of reaching and grasping task and how blocking Wnt-Ryk signaling can enhance axon plasticity and functional recovery.
