University campuses can be a great place to work. Yet, despite the best of intentions, when the pressure to achieve is high and stress levels increase, the respect we show towards one another can begin to deteriorate.
Christine Porath discusses how civility and trust enhance collaboration and influence and improve performance. When the work climate is more respectful and inclusive, greater trust and collaboration is enabled, marked by people who reciprocate respectful behaviour. Professor Porath will share recommendations for what one can do to enhance effectiveness and craft a more civil, collaborative, and thriving work environment.

Key topics:

  • Civility in teams
  • Productive and counterproductive workplace behaviour
  • Fostering collaboration in teams
