Aim: The Simons Foundation’s Autism Research Initiative invites applications for “Maternal COVID-19 as a potential risk for autism: Supplemental funding for ongoing pregnancy cohorts” (Maternal COVID-19 RFA). The Maternal COVID-19 RFA aims to facilitate research on the mechanisms of gestational infection and inflammation on autism risk in children. Grants awarded through this RFA will supplement existing funding from other agencies for ongoing COVID-19 pregnancy cohorts, with the goal to broaden biospecimen collection and to extend postnatal family tracking
Duration: 3 years
Funding: max $250’000 for projects at single site
max $400’000 for projects at multiple sites
Eligibility: All applicants and key collaborators must hold a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree and have a faculty position or the equivalent at a college, university, medical school or other research facility. In addition, eligible applicants must have independent lab space at their institution. Applications may be submitted by domestic and foreign nonprofit organizations; public and private institutions, such as colleges, universities, hospitals, laboratories, units of state and local government; and eligible agencies of the federal government. There are no citizenship or country requirements
