[SNSF - COST - European Cooperation in Science and Technology | Research Funding]
Event details
Date | 04.05.2018 |
Category | Call for proposal |
The SNSF launched the 2018 call for research projects that are part of COST networks (COST Actions). The aim of the SNSF call is to support young researchers (PhD/doctorate and postdocs, or researchers with comparable qualifications) who wish to participate in a COST Action to boost scientific cooperation and develop an extensive international network. Applications can be made in any field of research covered by the COST Actions given in Appendix 1 of the call document.
COST brings together European researchers from different COST countries to jointly develop their own ideas and new initiatives across all science and technology fields through trans-European cooperation. COST activities are carried out in the form of networks, called COST Actions, which are essentially coordinated research endeavors and the result of an international bottom-up programming process. COST does not fund research itself but supports networking via different tools (meetings, scientific exchanges, training schools). Research funding is provided by national funding sources. Swiss researchers are entitled to apply for research funding through a specific budget-line for COST, implemented by the SNSF.
