Abstract:
After an introduction to the 3R concept, the foundation Animalfree Research as well as some of its work is explained.
The presentation continues to touch on some of the most pressing topics in science and animal welfare, such as the reproducibility crisis, the importance of open access and the influence of environment on in vivo data, including a critical look at the current problems of in vitro technologies.
It concludes with an overview of achievements and resources on the 3Rs, such as the newly founded Swiss 3R Competence Center as well as other national and international organizations.
