In haptics, force and motion are closely linked at the physical level, biomechanical and perceptual level. Haptic perception typically requires the active exploration of the object, to compensate the limited extension of the contact  surface and  apprehend the whole object. At the same time, any haptic exploration also involves interaction forces which are often neglected in the study  of the haptic modality. Understanding interaction forces is also important during human-human and human-machine physical interaction. This talk will present several experiments that explore the binome force-movement in the haptic perception  of force fields by a single person and by dyads.
