The Infrared Structure of Nonlinear Sigma Models

I will discuss recent developments in probing the infrared structure of nonlinear sigma models using soft Goldstone bosons. In particular, the CHY formulation of scattering equations indicates the existence of an extended theory with cubic biadjoint scalars residing in the single soft limit. I will discuss the emergence of the mysterious theory using the Ward identity.
