A committed look at the definition of a precise gesture towards a given brief and context. Regardless of its inherent level of complexity, the project of architecture constitutes a long and thorough process, evolving from concept to built form through constant questioning and doubt. Good design needs its own time, a body engages with a place through adaptation and refinement, slowly taking part in it, knowing that each step is the consequence of error and trial. Furthermore, a building is a tentative solution, the possible compromise that fulfilled the client's initial expectations and bypassed reality's constraints. For this lecture, two vast territories are proposed, their apparent lack of urbanity perhaps amplifying the scope of possibilities. Two projects reached completion, one gave its place to the other.
