For more than fifty years, UBS Culture Foundation has been engaged in promoting cultural life and the arts, the exchange between artists and wider society, and advancing the diversity of cultural expression. In particular, we support the creation, dissemination and mediation of contemporary art and culture in Switzerland.
The Foundation supports projects in the following areas:
- Visual Arts
- Heritage Conservation & Archaeology: UBS Culture Foundation supports the preservation, research and mediation of Cultural Property. In particular, the Foundation is committed to the restoration of heritage sites and buildings of supraregional significance, as well as to archaeological research projects in Switzerland.
- Film
- Literature
- Music
- Humanities & Cultural Sciences: UBS Culture Foundation supports historical, philosophical and transdisciplinary projects with a clear focus on Switzerland. In particular we support projects that make an innovative and sustainable contribution to the general understanding of scholarly and scientific knowledge, to the benefit of social advancement. In addition, UBS Culture Foundation is prepared to support Swiss museums in the acquisition of objects of major cultural-historical substance and significance.
- Priority projects
Who can apply: Swiss professional artists, individuals engaged in the field of culture and the humanities, and foreign professionals with permanent residence in Switzerland as well as cultural projects of artists with a particular focus on Switzerland.
Funding & Duration: no upper or lower limit.
Rolling call: Grant proposals are submitted and reviewed on a continuous basis. The Foundation Board meets twice a year (in spring and autumn) to decide on the grant proposals that have successfully passed the evaluation process. These meetings are preceded by a processing time of about three months.
