Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing the 2025 Alzheimer's Research Program (AZRP) Awards. Several award programs are available:
How to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact information, a letter of intent, and a list of collaborators and key personnel as suggested on the platform. Full applications will be made via a Grants.gov workspace.

Further information:
- The Transforming Care Award aims to support research that provides interventions, innovations, and solutions in critical areas in dementia care. Research should lead to improved quality of life, reduced caregiver burden and stress, and/or increased support for those living with dementia diagnoses.
- The Transforming Diagnosis Award targets research that reduces or overcomes important barriers to obtaining a diagnosis, meaningful disease monitoring, and accurate prognosis. Barriers could include, but are not limited to, technologies, cost, patient access to diagnosis/prognosis technology, diagnosis management, applicability, clinical implementation, relationship to clinical outcome measures, biomarker validation, lack of longitudinal data to inform prediction/prognosis, and more. Applications that do not clearly delineate how the proposed project addresses and/or overcomes current challenges for viable diagnosis and/or prognosis do not meet the intent of this mechanism
- The Transforming Research Award is intended to support studies that will make transformative contributions to risk reduction and prevention of the development of AD/ADRD. The AZRP challenges investigators to appreciably accelerate efforts in AD/ADRD risk and prevention research and demonstrate tangible impact toward improving patient care and/or quality of life. All projects must respond to one of the focus areas listed here.
- Transforming Care Award: max. $1.8M
- Transforming Diagnosis Award: max. $1.7M
- Transforming Research Award: max. $1M
- Transforming Care Award: 4 years
- Transforming Diagnosis Award: 4 years
- Transforming Research Award: 3 years
