Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury Research Program (PHTBIRP) for 2019. Through the Complex TBI Rehabilitation Research (CTRR) initiative, the PHTBIRP seek innovative rehabilitation research that has the potential to make a significant impact on improving the health and well-being of military Service members, Veterans, and other individuals with TBI. The programs challenge the clinical and scientific communities to design innovative research that will foster new directions for, and address neglected issues in, the field of TBI rehabilitation research.
The intent of the FY19 Clinical Research Award to support clinical research focused on understanding the clinical sequelae and mechanisms of recovery associated with mTBI and TBI-related cognitive, sensory, and motor performances.
Funding: Maximum USD $ 2M
Duration: 3 years
Eligibility: Applicants from international organizations or institutions are eligible to apply, and there are no citizenship restrictions. Independent investigators at all academic levels (or equivalent) are eligible to be named by the organization as the PI on the application.
How to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact information, a list of collaborators and key personnel, a preproposal narrative, and supporting documents as suggested on the platform. Full applications (by invitation) will be made via a Grants.gov workspace. Full application packages can be downloaded from Grants.gov at any time.
