Soft skills sometimes fall by the wayside because we focus more on experiments and publications. But they are an equally valuable part of our postdoctoral training. So what soft skills courses are on offer at EPFL? Are there specially tailored courses for postdocs? Can we influence the courses on offer?
Sonia Cid is Educational Advisor for the Staff Training Service (STS) and will answer your questions about soft skills training at EPFL.
Sometimes your soft skills aren’t enough to navigate interpersonal issues. When and why use mediation? What can mediators do for you? Which steps to follow if you feel the need for a mediator?
Marie Ligier is the mediator for EPFL and UNIL personnel, including postdocs, and will answer your questions about mediation.
We will also host Bernard Rossier, who is the Ombudsman of EPFL and will discuss EPFL guidelines on Good Research Practice and scientific misconduct.
