The Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation performs and promotes basic, pre-clinical and clinical research related to spinal cord injury worldwide. Examples of eligible research and clinical projects are available at this link. Preference is given to projects with the potential to provide real benefits to human patients and which focus on chronic spinal cord injury.
 
INDIVIDUAL GRANTS

  • Who can apply: Post-docs, PhDs and/or technicians.
  • For what: to cover the PI’s salary, training and travel costs to annual WfL scientific meeting.
  • Duration: max. 3 years.
  • Funding per year: EUR 57’000 (Post-docs), EUR 34’000 (PhDs) or EUR 21’000 (technicians).
  • Application:
    • Deadline for Executive Summary: 2 September 2018
    • Deadline for Grant Application: 2 November 2018
    • Read the guidelines and apply via the online portal. Join the applicable ethical authorisations and, for Post-docs, a Support Letter from the Head of your Lab.
 
PROJECT RESEARCH GRANTS
  • Who can apply: established and young investigators, and Post-docs.
  • For what: to sustain a full research project by covering personnel, equipment, products, consumables, animal and animal care, training, 10% overheads, travel costs to WfL meeting.
  • Duration: max. 3 years.
  • Funding per year: EUR 100’000.
  • Application:
    • Deadline for Executive Summary: 2 September 2018
    • Deadline for Grant Application: 2 November 2018

ACCELERATED TRANSLATIONAL PROGRAM
  • For what: to support translational clinical trials of high calibre, promising therapies. 
  • Application:
    • No Deadlines: applications are reviewed upon receipt.

    • Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full application.
