The World Cancer Research Fund International supports research on cancer prevention and survival. Each of these areas may be addressed either from the perspective of identifying the mechanisms that underpin the effect of diet, nutrition and physical activity on cancer, or by addressing the host factors that influence individual susceptibility to cancer development or progression.
Evaluation criteria: novelty, impact, relevant exposures, appropriate study design, relevance to human cancer, cancer-related outcomes.
 
Who can apply: PI with a senior established research position based at a research institution from any country outside the Americas (incl. Switzerland). Co-applicants and collaborators can be based in the Americas, and a portion of the research work can be carried out at their institutions.
 
Funding:

  • max. £350,000 for up to 4 years for the Investigator Initiated Grants.
  • max. £60,000 for up to 2 years for Seed Grants.
 
Eligible costs: salaries for personnel (excluding the PI), research equipment, Open Access publication fees, supplies and travel to conferences/meetings. Budgets must be submitted in pounds sterling only.
