One postdoctoral researcher (Dr. Roman Makhnenko, LMS) and two PhD students (Chao Li, LMS and Felix Bobbink, LCOM) have presented the research they conducted at the EPFL at World Gas Congress – 2015 (WGC). WGC is a major triannual event in gas industry and in June 2015 it took place in Paris. Researchers from EPFL demonstrated two interactive presentations and two posters at two Gaz Nat stands at Swiss Gas industry booth (“Gaz Naturel”). We spoke with more than 150 people from all over the world about our research, Gaz Nat business, and generally Swiss gas industry activities. We believe that showing the scientific advances that can help the gas industry is beneficial for the company.
Two Gaz Nat stands were a part of “Gaz Naturel” (Swiss gas industry) booth at WGC. The beautiful appearance of the booth with the green grass, flowers and windmill was an attraction to more than 4000 attendees of the exhibition and the conference. We had a chance to speak with executives of such big companies as Total, Exxon Mobil, Chevron and others. We distributed the flyers on our research activities as well as those on general “Gaz Naturel” structure and projects. It also has to be mentioned that the receptions that were organized for the two first days of the congress brought a lot of people to our stands from both Switzerland and the rest of the world. We also had an opportunity to speak with Swiss ambassador in France Mr. Bernardino Regazzoni and the director of Swiss Federal Office of Energy Dr. Walter Steinmann.
