Event details

Date 02.04.2024
Category Conferences - Seminars

Worldwide Cancer Research supports research that seeks to answer the difficult questions in cancer biology through innovative and truly novel ideas that have the potential to revolutionize our understanding of cancer and how to beat it.

Project grants support basic, fundamental or translational research into the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of cancer. No priority is given to any field of research within this; research that draws on epidemiological, behavioral and clinical data to provide a starting point for a new avenue of research is welcome. Multidisciplinary or discipline-hopping projects are encouraged where this helps stimulate innovation.

Duration:      1-3 years

Funding:        max. £275,000 (however, the foundation notes that most of their 3-year grants have a budget of about £200,000)

Eligibility: Tenured or tenure-track research group leaders are eligible to apply as PIs. Postdoctoral researchers with more than three years of experience are also eligible, assuming the head of their research group applies as a co-applicant.

How to Apply: Applications should be sent using the dedicated online platform, and detailed instructions can be found in the Grant Application Handbook. Budgets can include research consumables, the salaries of research staff working directly on the project, travel to conferences or to visit collaborators, and any essential services or small pieces of specialist or unusual equipment. Applications must be approved by an Authorizing Officer before submission; contact the Research Office for this step.

Application Deadline: 2 April 2024
