Category Call for proposal

The Wyss Center is a translational research center that accelerates the development of neurotechnology research into clinical solutions for human benefit.

The Wyss Center welcomes informal inquiries, from anywhere in the world, about projects that could complement its existing programs and make full use of the Wyss center’s research platforms and human resources (e.g. neuroscientists, engineers…).

It supports projects as far as:

  • proof of principle in human trials and then
  • exit prior to commercialization (incl. licensing, joint ventures, sale or spin out as a startup).

Current topics:
  • Novel encapsulation technologies for long-term implantation
  • Implantable connector technologies that enable more modular implantable systems
  • Novel methods of powering implantable devices
  • Innovative methods of thermoregulation for implantable devices
  • Innovative strategies in neural decoding.

Evaluation criteria:
  • The project must fill a technical need in an existing Wyss program
  • Is ready to translate into clinical technology
  • Established design or proof of concept
  • Freedom to operate without infringing existing IP

Funding & Duration: not specified

Application:
