Artificial Architecture: Machines and Dystopian Dreams showcases five years of pioneering work by the EPFL Media and Design Lab, at EPFL Pavilions, Pavilion A, exploring the transformative impact of Generative AI in Architecture.
The public studio review and symposium on Monday 25.3.2024 invite the public to immerse, reflect, and critically envision the future of artificial architecture: questioning the capability of machines to autonomously produce meaningful architectural works, their potential to grasp the architectural notions of “typology” and “form,” and manifest the intangible 'genius loci,’ as well as the ethical issues and unforeseen consequences of ceding creative control to machines.
The exhibition at Pavilion A, open from 21.3.-31.3.2024, presents immersive projections, live prototypes, and a larger-than-life-sized “design brain,” highlighting the vast potential and nuanced challenges AI introduces to architectural design.
