HeLa Genomics - Lessons to be learned for the genetics of immortalized cells

Event details
Date | 24.09.2013 |
Hour | 09:00 › 10:00 |
Speaker | Dr. Lars Steinmetz, Group Leader of the Genome Biology Unit at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory of Heidelberg |
Location | |
Category | Conferences - Seminars |
Dr. Steinmetz has published recently a very insightful and profoundly analysed paper on the genomics of one of the many HeLa cell lines used in hundreds of labs worldwide. This seminar should be of highest value to anybody who uses these or any other immortalized cell line in the pursuit of scientific insights or for the generation of high value products (such as antibodies, vaccines, structural proteins).
Dr. Steinmetz will be available for discussion in the late morning. Please contact me if you want to meet him or if you would like to join us for lunch. As usual, interested PhD students and postdocs are also welcome.
