Aim of the programme
- This grant allows outstanding researchers to lead an independent research project in any disciplines and a team of researchers in CH.
- Funding: max. CHF 1.8M for max. 5 years (including applicant's salary, if applicable).
- Eligibility: max. 8 years after PhD + min. 2 years of research after PhD.
How to get EPFL's support?
- Do you hold a professorship position?
- Yes: to obtain the General Confirmation Letter, submit draft application and detailed confirmation letter (template in the Toolkit) signed by the Institute Director to [email protected], indicating your commitment time to the project (min. 50%).
- No: to obtain the General Confirmation Letter, follow the internal process and deadlines put in place by your host Schools for SNSF Professorial Fellowships and ERC Starting Grant (contact your host institute and school as soon as possible). At EPFL, grantees who are awarded an SNSF Starting Grant shall be appointed by the ETH-Board as assistant professors without tenure track and will receive CHF 100K in startup funds.

- Go to mySNF and fill out your CV on the SNSF portal. Be aware that creating a new mySNF account and adapting your CV to the SNSF format may take several days.
