The major goals of the organization are to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a research environment where scientists can achieve their best work. The <strong>EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships</strong> support excellent postdoctoral researchers throughout Europe and the world for a period of up to two years. International mobility is a key requirement. The fellowship includes a salary or stipend, a relocation allowance and support for fellows with children. The turbulent viscosity is split into horizontal and vertical directions, each of which approaches zero at a different rate. The underlying Cylindrical Brownian Motion driving our transport-stretching noise is decomposed into horizontal and vertical components, which are scaled by the square root of the respective directional viscosities. We prove that if the ratio of the vertical to horizontal viscosities approaches zero, then there exists a sequence of weak martingale solutions convergent to the strong solution of the deterministic Euler equation on its lifetime of existence. A particular challenge is that the anisotropic scaling ruins the divergence-free property for the spatial correlation functions of the noise.</p>", "image_description": "", "creation_date": "2026-02-18T12:59:24", "last_modification_date": "2026-03-22T19:58:56", "link_label": "Working-Reading Seminar", "link_url": "https://www.epfl.ch/labs/stoan/reading-working-seminar/", "canceled": "True", "cancel_reason": "", "place_and_room": "MA B2 485", "url_place_and_room": "", "url_online_room": "", "spoken_languages": [ "https://memento.epfl.ch/api/v1/spoken_languages/2/?format=api" ], "speaker": "Dr Daniel Goodair (EPFL)", "organizer": "<a href=\"https://people.epfl.ch/xue-mei.li\">Xue-Mei Li</a>", "contact": "<a href=\"https://people.epfl.ch/xue-mei.li\">Xue-Mei Li</a>", "is_internal": "False", "theme": "", "vulgarization": { "id": 3, "fr_label": "Expert", "en_label": "Expert" }, "registration": { "id": 3, "fr_label": "Entrée libre", "en_label": "Free" }, "keywords": "Working-Reading seminar, Probability, stochastic analysis", "file": null, "icalendar_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/event/export/119781/", "category": { "id": 1, "code": "CONF", "fr_label": "Conférences - Séminaires", "en_label": "Conferences - Seminars", "activated": true }, "academic_calendar_category": null, "domains": [], "mementos": [ "https://memento.epfl.ch/api/v1/mementos/7/?format=api" ] }, { "id": 71174, "title": "Schneggenburger & Herzog Labs", "slug": "schneggenburger-herzog-labs", "event_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/event/schneggenburger-herzog-labs", "visual_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/image/32542/200x112.jpg", "visual_large_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/image/32542/720x405.jpg", "visual_maxsize_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/image/32542/max-size.jpg", "lang": "en", "start_date": "2026-06-17", "end_date": "2026-06-17", "start_time": "12:15:00", "end_time": "13:15:00", "description": "<em>Hybrid - By invitation only</em><br>\r\n<br>\r\nSchneggenburger Lab: Elena Mombelli<br>\r\nTitle: TBD<br>\r\n&<br>\r\nHerzog Lab: Martina Morea<br>\r\nTitle: Seeing Comes After Grouping: How the Brain Builds Visual Perception", "image_description": "", "creation_date": "2026-02-18T15:39:04", "last_modification_date": "2026-04-10T00:56:34", "link_label": "", "link_url": "", "canceled": "False", "cancel_reason": "", "place_and_room": "SV 1717", "url_place_and_room": "https://plan.epfl.ch/?room==SV%201717", "url_online_room": "", "spoken_languages": [ "https://memento.epfl.ch/api/v1/spoken_languages/2/?format=api" ], "speaker": "Gabriel Berdugo-Vega & Elena Mombelli", "organizer": "SV BMI", "contact": "[email protected]", "is_internal": "False", "theme": "", "vulgarization": { "id": 2, "fr_label": "Public averti", "en_label": "Informed public" }, "registration": { "id": 3, "fr_label": "Entrée libre", "en_label": "Free" }, "keywords": "", "file": null, "icalendar_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/event/export/119784/", "category": { "id": 1, "code": "CONF", "fr_label": "Conférences - Séminaires", "en_label": "Conferences - Seminars", "activated": true }, "academic_calendar_category": null, "domains": [], "mementos": [ "https://memento.epfl.ch/api/v1/mementos/19/?format=api" ] }, { "id": 71256, "title": "Workshop - Detection and Emergence of Complexity : Artificial Life Perspectives", "slug": "workshop-detection-and-emergence-of-complexity-a-3", "event_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/event/workshop-detection-and-emergence-of-complexity-a-3", "visual_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/image/32614/200x112.jpg", "visual_large_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/image/32614/720x405.jpg", "visual_maxsize_url": "https://memento.epfl.ch/image/32614/max-size.jpg", "lang": "en", "start_date": "2026-05-27", "end_date": "2026-05-29", "start_time": "09:15:00", "end_time": "18:00:00", "description": "<p>An abundance of systems has been studied as potential models of artificial life: from classical discrete cellular automata, to their randomized versions such as random Boolean networks, continuous systems including neural CAs or Lenia systems, or even simple programming languages. The ultimate research goal of our group is to synthesize nitrogen-containing organic compounds efficiently and directly from N2 gas as the nitrogen source, bypassing the NH3-depended synthetic pathway, mainly via metal-mediated or catalyzed dinitrogen functionalization.1<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<img alt=\"\" id=\"_x0000_i1025\" o:ole=\"\" src=\"file:///C:/Users/mborcard/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image001.emz\"><br>\r\n<img alt=\"\" id=\"图片_x0020_1\" src=\"file:///C:/Users/mborcard/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image002.emz\"><br>\r\n<br>\r\nAt this presentation, I will briefly introduce two results recently realized in my research group. One result is about the transformation and mechanism on efficient first-step and second-step N2 electrophilic functionalization of LnCr-N2 metal dinitrogen complexes.2 The other result is on the synthesis of nitrogen-containing organic compounds via LiNCNLi formed from N2 gas and carbon by synergizing the heterogeneous synthetic approach with the homogeneous synthetic methodology.3<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong><em>References</em></strong><strong><em>:</em></strong><br>\r\n<strong>1.</strong> Lv, Z.-J.; Wei, J.; Zhang, W.-X.; Chen, P.; Deng, D.; Shi, Z.-J.; Xi, Z. <em>Natl.
