Both men and women can benefit from learning and practicing self-leadership to improve their professional and personal lives.
\r\n
\r\nHow this workshop will help you:
\r\nWe will explore the topic of self-leadership by addressing self-awareness, self-confidence and self-efficacy. At the same time, this workshop will provide a space where you can exchange ideas and strategies with others on dealing with and succeeding in the situations that you face in your current work environment and your life.
\r\n
\r\nThe format of the workshop is highly interactive and practical, involving case studies, small group work and discussion sessions. Participants will be actively involved in the course, discussing their own life and leadership experiences and self-reflecting in a guided process. The increased awareness and the tools they will discover can be readily used in daily life to enhance their leadership, success and satisfaction.
\r\n
\r\nDay 1+2: from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm
\r\nDay 3: from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm
",

            "description": "
We investigate an anisotropic vanishing viscosity limit of the 3D stochastic Navier-Stokes equations posed between two horizontal plates, with Dirichlet no-slip boundary condition. The turbulent viscosity is split into horizontal and vertical directions, each of which approaches zero at a different rate. The underlying Cylindrical Brownian Motion driving our transport-stretching noise is decomposed into horizontal and vertical components, which are scaled by the square root of the respective directional viscosities. We prove that if the ratio of the vertical to horizontal viscosities approaches zero, then there exists a sequence of weak martingale solutions convergent to the strong solution of the deterministic Euler equation on its lifetime of existence. A particular challenge is that the anisotropic scaling ruins the divergence-free property for the spatial correlation functions of the noise.
",

A Kakeya set is a compact subset of R^n that contains a unit line segment pointing in every direction. Kakeya set conjecture asserts that every Kakeya set has Minkowski and Hausdorff dimension n. We prove this conjecture in R^3 as a consequence of a more general statement about union of tubes. Joint work with Josh Zahl.
\r\n
\r\nProfessor Candès will deliver a talk titled “What Statistics and AI Offer Each Other?“, exploring how thinking carefully about AI inputs and outputs yields more powerful, safer AI. By examining several vignettes, we shall answer questions such as: how do we train language models under cost constraints? What happens when we’ve exhausted all available data? If I start a clinical trial using the drug AI thinks is best, will it pan out? How can we ensure high-quality products when AI is used in a larger workflow? That is, how do I know whether AI automated a task correctly? AI powered imputations are beginning to substitute for real data when collection of the latter is difficult, slow, or costly. How then should we leverage machine learning predictions both as a substitute for high-quality data and as a tool for guiding real data collection?
\r\n
\r\nBernoulli Center for Fundamental Studies
\r\n
",
