Recent synthetic quantifications of bounds on the Ricci curvature have triggered high research interest within mathematical general relativity. After sketching its heuristics, I outline my contributions to this theory pertaining to foundational results, physically relevant examples, and geometric consequences. Finally, I specify my research agenda, presenting new probabilistic and analytic methods to assist in an improved understanding of our universe.
