We don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are” (Anaïs Nin). The subsequent multitude of perspectives existing in an international and multicultural environment such as the EPFL provides a fertile ground for creative problem-solving and innovation. Nonetheless, it can also be the source of misunderstandings if different modes of perception, mental models, and communication styles aren’t anticipated and not recognized as such.
During this conference we will look at concrete examples on how our background and the culture in which we grew up do impact the ways we perceive behavior and communication patterns. Easily applicable intercultural tools will enable participants to make sense of their own experiences working with individuals from around the globe, and support them in transforming EPFL’s campus diversity into a significant asset.
A Zoom link will be sent to the registered participant in due time.
