Aim:  The AACR-Bristol-Myers Squibb Midcareer Female Investigator Grant represents a joint effort to encourage and support mid-career female physician-scientists and researchers to conduct immuno-oncology research and to foster their career advancement toward becoming a senior investigator. Research projects may be translational and/or clinical in nature with a focus on immuno-oncology.
 
Support is provided for expenses related to the research project, which may include salary and benefits of the grant recipient and any collaborators, postdoctoral or clinical research fellows, graduate students, and/or research assistants; research/laboratory supplies; equipment; publication charges for manuscripts that pertain directly to the funded project; and other research expenses (indirect costs not permitted).
 
Funding: USD $225’000
 
Duration: 3 years
 
Eligibility: Applicants must have a doctoral degree (including PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) in a related field. Applicants must also have received their first NIH R01 (or equivalent) award within the past 10 years; contact the Research Office for any questions on equivalence. Applications will be accepted from independent investigators who are affiliated with an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world.
 
Applicants should be AACR members. Annual dues are not required for early-career researchers interested in Associate membership. Nonmembers interested in this grant opportunity must submit a satisfactory application for AACR membership, and be members in good standing, by the Letter of Intent deadline. Nonmembers can apply for membership using the Official Application for Membership submitted to the AACR with the required documents or apply online.
 
How to Apply: AACR requires applicants to complete an online application using the proposalCENTRAL website. If you are a new user of proposalCENTRAL, first create your account. If EPFL will serve as your host institution, please use the following institution name in proposalCENTRAL: Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne EPFL.  If you are a returning user, access the site and log in with your Username and Password. To start a Letter of Intent, select the “Grant Opportunities” tab, then select “Filter List by GrantMaker” at the top and click “American Association for Cancer Research” in the drop down menu. Find the “AACR-Bristol-Myers Squibb Midcareer Female Investigator Grant” and click the blue “Apply Now” button in the “Apply” column.
