Dear Postdocs,
A successful leap from academic environment to the industry world requires a certain attainable knowledge and skillset. On such requirement is having a well-above-average knowledge about the job market state of your field, possible entry points, available positions, how to approach the job market, who to approach for help, etc.
As part of the “Academia-to-Industry” Career Series, the SV Postdoc Association has the pleasure to announce the next event in the Series to address the above-mentioned concerns. This event, which will be held on the 4th of February 2019, will provide the opportunity for postdocs considering transition to industry, to interact with recruitment specialist in various fields to learn about ins and outs of “how to approach a talent and recruitment expert”, “job opportunities in the field” and, more importantly, “strengths and weaknesses of your CV and how an appropriate CV should look like”.
The event will start with an opening presentation by Mr Stephen Fischer on Transferable Skills, which will be then followed by three parallel sessions with recruitment specialists covering Life Sciences (Biomedical sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics), Pharma, and Technology (Data science, Big data analysis, applied machine learning). This will be followed by a panel discussion and and apero during which you will have the chance to network with the presenters and other participants (detailed program below).

Important notes:
1) Every participant may select one of the sessions to join.
2) We would need 5-8 volunteers (per session) to share their non-academic “anonymised” CVs with the specialists to be discussed publicly as examples during each session.
