Abstract: How to identify, create and serve high quality content efficiently and responsibly is critical for the success of multimedia systems or products. A typical multimedia system contains media quality assessment, enhancement, editing, watermarking and compression. In this presentation, Feng will talk about his recent work at Google Research on using AI to improve each of the components of multimedia systems.

Bio: Feng Yang is a Senior Staff Software at Google Research, where he leads the AIM Engine Team. His research interests include content understanding and creation, watermarking, compression, computational photography. Feng received the B. Eng. and M. Eng. degrees in automatic control from Tsinghua University. He won the Outstanding master thesis of Tsinghua University. He got Ph.D. degree in communication systems at EPFL. He won the Fritz Kutter Award for best PhD thesis. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Robotics Institute, CMU. Feng is Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Computational Imaging, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and Area Chair of ICLR 2024. He was an Area Chair of CVPR 2020.
