Aim: amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is one of the world's leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and advocacy. The purpose of the Magnet Grants is to recruit data scientists, including modelers, systems biologists, and network analysts from outside the field of HIV to address questions vital to finding a cure for HIV. Collaborations are required between an HIV scientist with access to datasets relevant to HIV and a data scientist from outside the field of HIV. Researchers should use existing datasets to identify novel:
Funding: $150’000
Duration: 12 months
Eligibility: Principal investigators must have a doctoral degree. There are no degree requirements for data scientists or other personnel.
How to Apply: Submission of applications is a two-step process through the foundation’s online portal. Applicants must register to receive portal log-in credentials as a first step. After registration, a username, password and a link to the submission portal will be sent to the email address provided. Applicants should use the log-in information to complete and submit the application online through the portal.
