I will explain how one can do geometry in a symmetric monoidal category following Deligne, Toen-Vaquie and Toen-Vezzosi. In case the category is the the category of abelian groups one recovers standard algebraic geometry. Choosing other categories gives new ways of approaching known geometries and also possibilities for new geometries. Geometry relative to the category of Banach spaces turns out to give a new approach to analytic geometry (and differential geometry). This approach is very suitable for developing derived analytic geometry. This is joint work with Oren Ben-Bassat.
