Applications of analytic methods to dynamical systems and to conforma field theory.
Seminar in Mathematics:
Abstract:
We will explain two applications, of quite dfferent nature, of analytic tools from PDE and spectral theory. The first one is about a rigidity conjecture from the 80's by Burns and Katok on the determination of a negatively curved Riemannian metric on a closed manifold from the lengths of its closed geodesics. The second application, called conformal bootstrap, is a way to express the n-point correlation functions in 2 dimensional conformal field theory from products of 3-point correlation functions on the sphere.
