Attempts to simulate flows around a body in exterior domains are met with the difficulty of treating the non-boundedness of the fluid domain. By truncating at an arbitrary distance from the body, artificial boundaries are introduced, for which one must provide boundary conditions. In the case where the domain is a half-plane and the flow stationary, I will describe Dirichlet boundary conditions based on the asymptotic expansion for the solution, and I will compare it with other possible choices of boundary conditions. This research is based on my thesis conducted under the supervision of Prof. Peter Wittwer, UniGE.
