Automation is a key driver of progress across technical and scientific fields. Yet, in chemistry, automation still lags behind other disciplines. Miniaturization in synthetic chemistry not only reduces environmental impact and waste but also accelerates discovery by enabling higher throughput experimentation. We have introduced acoustic droplet ejection (ADE) technology into synthetic chemistry (ACS Cent. Sci. 2019), providing a platform for nanoliter-scale synthesis. In this talk, I will showcase how we integrate ADE-based nanoscale synthesis with OT-2–driven building block assembly and high-throughput screening (HTS) to accelerate the discovery of novel, potent inhibitors.
