Aircraft noise is perhaps the most debated impact of airport operation. It is heard over a large territory, across heterogeneous urban areas and landscapes, in multiple municipalities, provinces, even nations, altering conditions on the ground far beyond the airport fence.
“The Noise Landscape” explores the expansive areas affected by noise, infrastructure, and transient forms of architecture around large airports in Europe, and attempts to re-conceptualize these landscapes, which are emblematic of contemporary urbanisation and globalised mobility.
Join us for a book presentation and discussion with the authors, followed by an apero.
