Aim: The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (BBRF) is the world’s largest private funder of mental health research grants. BBRF awards research grants to develop improved treatments, cures, and methods of prevention for mental illness. The BBRF Distinguished Investigator Grant provides support for experienced investigators conducting innovative neurobiological and behavioral research in diverse areas of neurobiology. Areas of particular interest to the Scientific Council's Selection Committee include patient populations with unique or unusual characteristics and central nervous system developments.
Duration: 1 year
Funding: $ 100,000
Eligibility: Applicants must be a full professor (or equivalent), and maintain peer reviewed competitively funded scientific programs.
How to Apply: Applications should be submitted online and must include the following: face sheet, description of the project, list of key personnel (incl. PI), budget, list of other funding sources, and description of lab resources and environment. Budgets should include 8% overhead. Notifications of awards will be delivered in March 2027.
