Building a Strategy for Postdocs for a Job Search Outside the University

This full-day workshop focuses on identifying the parameters of an individual's job search, their skills and interests, goals and methods, within the context of a particular employment environment. It helps participants to identify opportunities for a career path outside the university environment. It consists of a full day of presentations, discussions and practical exercises to explore career development for researchers in the Life Sciences, in Switzerland and in Europe more generally.
This workshop is leaded by Verity Elston, who conducts ongoing qualitative and quantitative research on careers for doctorate holders in Switzerland and in Europe.
The course is for a maximum of 15 people and it is open to the whole scientific SV community. However, because of the limited number of participants, priority will be given to postdoctoral researchers and to SV-Postdoc Association members.
The cost of the course is 100 CHF for non-members, and 85 CHF for members of our association, including coffee break. Further information regarding the payment will be provided after the registration will be closed and the participants list will be defined.
Please take note that lunch is not provided, so you are expected to bring your own food.

The deadline for the workshop registration is the 20th of February and participants will be notified on the following day.
The payment will be due by the 26th of February. Participants will also be asked to fill a questionnaire to provide some preliminary information on their background and objectives. This information will provide the basis for practical exercises during the workshop.
Please note that in case of cancellation after the 26th of February, we will only be able to refund 50% of the fee!
